Product Design Program Manager

OpenAI is seeking an experienced Product Design Program Manager to help scale their product design organization. The role bridges strategy and execution — focusing on how the team plans, collaborates, and delivers work across a fast-evolving product landscape. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Develop operational programs and processes supporting design team effectiveness • Lead planning for team rituals, hiring, onboarding, and resource allocation • Build scalable systems enabling team growth and cross-functional collaboration • Manage design asset libraries, templates, and version control • Oversee vendor and contractor relationships including onboarding and performance • Align objectives, roadmaps, and delivery milestones with Product and Engineering Operations • Facilitate intake, prioritization, and resource planning for design work • Conduct retrospectives and team health assessments WHO YOU ARE • 8+ years of experience in design operations roles within high-growth tech environments • Built and scaled 0-1 operational systems across multidisciplinary teams • Strong organizational skills with vendor management expertise • Familiarity with design tools and workflows • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with real-time problem-solving demands
