Product Designer, Unsecured Lending

Upstart is an AI lending marketplace partnering with banks and credit unions to deliver affordable personal loans and revolving credit products. This Product Designer role focuses on borrower-facing experiences for Upstart's core personal loan and unsecured lending products. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Translate product requirements into wireframes and high-fidelity designs for lending flows • Own end-to-end design process including user research, wireframing, and interaction design • Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers in a triad model, ensuring design intent survives to production • Contribute to design system component patterns • Manage branching logic, multi-step application flows, and edge-case scenarios WHO YOU ARE • 3+ years of product design experience managing small-to-medium projects end-to-end • Proficiency in Figma and GenAI design tools • Experience with complex multi-step flows with branching logic — applications, forms, or onboarding • Fintech, lending, or regulated consumer product background is a plus • Quarterly in-person onsites required (East/West coast time zone flexibility needed)
